By using bengaluru.rent ("the site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. The site is operated by Harshit Anand from Bangalore, India.
What bengaluru.rent is
bengaluru.rent is an anonymous, crowdsourced rent map of Bangalore. Users contribute rent data, listings, and seeker preferences. The site facilitates direct connections between flat-hunters and flat owners via email. It is not a real-estate broker, agent, or licensed property service. It does not represent or guarantee any property or owner.
Your content
By dropping a pin, posting a listing, leaving a comment, or submitting any data, you confirm:
- The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You have the right to share it (e.g., it is your own rent, your own flat, your own search preferences).
- You grant bengaluru.rent a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, aggregate, and analyze that data for the purpose of running the platform and producing area statistics.
- You will not submit false rents, fake listings, spam, harassment, or content that violates Indian law.
Matching and contact sharing
When you submit a seeker pin or a flat listing with contact details, you consent to those contact details being shared via email with users whose pins match yours (within a 2.5 km radius and on compatible budget, BHK, and preference criteria). See the Privacy Policy for full details on how matching works and how your contact is handled.
If you do not want your contact shared with anyone, delete your pin. Contact is only shared while a pin is active and reaches a match.
Moderation
We reserve the right to remove pins, listings, comments, or accounts that:
- Contain false information (e.g., implausible rent amounts, fake landlord listings)
- Violate Indian law or these Terms
- Receive multiple credible abuse reports from other users
- Appear to be spam, fraud, or scraping attempts
Moderation is a mix of automated checks (rate limits, junk-email filters, IP bans, statistical outlier detection) and human review. Three or more credible abuse reports on a single pin result in automatic removal and a ban on the originating IP address.
Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from bengaluru.rent without written permission
- Create fake pins, listings, or comments
- Use the platform to harass, stalk, or intimidate any individual
- Resell or commercially repurpose the data without written permission
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, IP bans, or other technical protections
- Use automated tools (bots, crawlers) to interact with the site
- Impersonate another person, owner, or organization
No warranty
bengaluru.rent is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- That rent data is accurate, current, or complete (it is crowdsourced — accuracy depends on the contributors)
- That listed flats are actually available for rent
- That contact information shared via match emails will result in a successful tenancy
- That the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
Limitation of liability
bengaluru.rent and its founder (Harshit Anand) are not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from:
- Reliance on rent data, listings, or any information shown on the site
- Interactions, transactions, or disputes with other users you reach via matching
- Loss of data, downtime, or technical failures
- Decisions made based on the site's content (e.g., signing a lease, paying a deposit)
You use bengaluru.rent at your own risk. Always verify a flat in person and complete due diligence before signing any lease or paying any deposit.
Intellectual property
The bengaluru.rent name, logo, and original code are the property of Harshit Anand. The aggregated rent data, statistical aggregates, and area medians are derived from user contributions; you may not redistribute these in bulk without permission.
Takedown
If you find content on bengaluru.rent that infringes your rights, violates Indian law, or is otherwise inappropriate, email hi@bengaluru.rent with details. We respond to all takedown requests within 24–48 hours.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from your use of bengaluru.rent will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of bengaluru.rent after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
